Eyeliner time!

So a lot of things have happened since my last blog...mainly that I bought a new computer!! I convinced myself that a large purchase was completely warranted because I started a blog (I can pretty much convince myself to make large purchases for any reason). This blog entry will be my first on my super cute new MacBook, with an equally super cute teal cover of course!

I had a lot of thoughts about what this next blog post would be about (thanks to Trello  (organization website recommended by my boss, try it out!), I now can keep ideas all in one place that I have for my blog!) But thanks to a personal request, I have decided to write on one thing that I know quite a bit about - eyeliner! If I were stuck on a deserted island, I would totally have eyeliner be one of the things that I brought with me (maybe if this were a real scenario I might change my mind!) The most essential part of putting on good eyeliner is starting off with a good product - I personally like to use Revlon ColorStay liquid and pencil eyeliner. The best part about the pencil eyeliner is that it has a built in sharpener on the end, I LOVE a dual product, it's kind of like I won at the casino :-) I've used MAC liquid eyeliner for a long time, but I decided that I didn't want to spend so much of my hard earned money on just a liquid eyeliner (kind of like how you hate spending money on essentials, like toilet paper or paper towels). I tried out the Revlon ColorStay liquid eyeliner (it happened to be in a very similar bottle to MAC's liquid eyeliner) and I loved it!

So here are the steps I take when I'm putting on my eyeliner:
1. I put on all of my eye makeup before I do my eyeliner
2. Use the pencil eyeliner to line the lid as close to the lash line as possible (you can gently pull on the corner of your eyes to get a more even line)
3. Then I like to use the liquid eyeliner on the very edge and give myself a little cat eye (nothing too crazy, but it actually makes your eyelashes look longer and more beautiful!)
4. Then voila! You are all set!

I normally don't ever do eyeliner of my bottom lids because I don't like the way it looks on me but if you like that look, I suggest using the pencil eyeliner on your bottom lid right under the eyelashes and make sure to keep it a thin line (you don't want to look like you're walking down Broadway!) Sometimes a fun thing to do for a night out on the town is take an angled brush and wet it just a little and then dip in your favorite fun eyeshadow color and line the bottom of your lashes with that!

That's all for now my big hair and caked on makeup friends, feel free to let me know of ideas for future blogs (all done on my super cute new MacBook of course!)

SPOILER ALERT: In the coming week, I will have a guest blogger with a post entitled, "Soaps & Scents With a Sassy Sicilian" .... I would be waiting on the edge of my seat for this one ;-)
